We avid gardeners who do not live in balmy climates often face the prospect of spending October to March with our faces pressed wistfully to our windows, counting down the days to when we can get our hands dirty and our hearts happy by tending our gardens once again. Fortunately, there are ways to get around this greenery-deprived sulking by growing food plants and herbs indoors during the winter.
