Beekeeping can be easy and pleasurable in your own back garden! Also get to know
the medicinal benefits of yourbeehive, nature’s treasure box of best-kept secrets. Course outline:
* The bee hive.
* Tools, equipment, and apparel.
* The honeybee life cycle.
* A beekeeper's calendar.
* Honeybee nutrition and feeds.
* Identifying diseases, pests and predators.
* Chemical treatments and medicines.
* Organic methods of pest and disease control; understand why you should seriously consider this option.
* Harvesting honey, pollen, propolis and royal jelly.
* Tips for locating your bees.
* Hands-on in the bee yard; learn to inspect bees and handle bees correctly.
* Pick up our hive inspection sheet; it will help you throughout the calendar year.
* Demonstrations will be made using standard and new ergonomic beehives; both will suit urban / back garden beekeepers.
